What's In a Name?

Didn't I already use this title for a previous post? I think you will find it is worth repeating. We have already mentioned that Michael was the most popular boy's name for more than 30 years! Let's now take a look at what else besides a name our Michael has in common with other Michaels of his generation.

Michael Douglas- both are terrified of Glenn Close

Mike 'n Ike- both sweet as can be!

George Michael- both are snappy dressers

Michelangelo- both left-handed

Michael Keaton- both look terrific in a cape

Michael Vick- neither are very good with dogs

Michael Jackson- both are bla... um... both are fantastic dancers

Mike Tyson- let's just assume these two Michaels have nothing in common

Michael Phelps- both are capable swimmers

Michael Jordan- they're both black

Michael Buble- both are feelin' good!

Mike Myers- groovy!

Michael Andretti- both like fast cars

Michael J. Fox- both have strong Family Ties

Feel free to add some of your own comparisons in the comments section!

Michael, my brother - so fine.
Mom says he always pushed that fine line.
Now he works for a mouse,
Lives in my friend Kristi's house,
And yells out "Sarah, more wine!"

Believe it or not, Steve and I met Michael prior to meeting any of his "three sisters". Yes, that is correct. We had a little business relationship with him back in 2001. We had decided that the expanding Davis family needed a bit more room and moved out of our sweet dream house at 1630 E. Concord. In walks Michael. He decided our little piece of heaven in Downtown Orlando was meant to be his. Steve met Michael at a walk through of the house where he brought his sister (not Sarah) and her two sweet toddlers (Parker and Nicole). Three years later when the kids were in Kindergarten, I met Kelly at Starbucks. I told her we had moved from downtown Orlando, to which she replied, "My brother lives in downtown Orlando." I told her I lived on Concord Street, to which she replied, "My brother lives on Concord Street." You can figure out the rest. Yes, Michael is living in my house. He does not realize that the fact that my dog is buried in the back yard means we will be tied together forever. I am thinking, now that he is turning 40, we may get invited over for a visit. We don't have the safe to entice him to have us over...but I am not giving up yet!!

Vote SARAH for Michael's Favorite Sister

Top 10 Reasons to CAST YOUR VOTE FOR SARAH as Michael's Favorite Sister...

10. I make a mean garlic bread - this seems to be one of my best qualities so I will lead with it.

9. He will probably need a new liver one day and since I am the YOUNGEST of his three sisters, I will likely be the best candidate.

8. We are practically twins- born 1 month and 1 day apart.

7. I will let him be the smart one in our posse!

6. Does he yell, "Kelly! More Wine!" or "Christine! More Wine!"??? NO, he does not... it is "SARAH! MORE WINE!" And I oblige.

5. I'm very crafty... both arts and crafty and sneaky crafty... both beneficial as a favorite sister.

4. We don't have too much history... therefore, I have not doled out ANY abuse on him as his (much) older sisters have.

3. His biological sisters find him mildly amusing... I find him freakin' HILARIOUS!

2. There is no denying that I take the burden off of him as Grami Rie's other local child... I fix doorknobs and pet sit too. I also provide off-hours Customer Support of the computer variety.

1. We could totally build a fake childhood around my old family photos...

MIKEY ...
I can't believe you are almost 40. I'm going to spend the next 40 days telling everyone how old you are getting. Then, I'm going to spend the next 40 years telling everyone that you are my OLDER brother. HA!
